Announcing an opening as a Move Assistant
Segue, a woman-owned, senior move management business with two offices, one in Seattle and one in the South Sound, is seeking a part-time employee for the South Sound office to serve as a Move Assistant. Projects range from helping a client downsize from a life long home to a retirement community; moving a client from one apartment to another within a community; or moving an individual to an assisted living or skilled nursing residence. South Sound Segue projects are located primarily in Tacoma, Kent, Des Moines, Gig Harbor, DuPont and Puyallup.
Segue move assistants work as a team under a project manager to pack, unpack, and set up a clients new home, including packing and unpacking breakables and artwork, setting up the kitchen, bathroom, home office, and bedrooms, hooking up electronics, hanging pictures, and removing all packing supplies). Segue contracts with professional movers for the loading, transporting and unloading of furniture and boxes. A project typically involves two consecutive days, one 6-8 hour day of packing and 4-6 hours the following afternoon for unpacking and setting up the clients new home.
A Move Assistant is expected to schedule their available workdays up to 20 days in advance. The possibility for work varies from 0 to 3 days a week.
Job requirements:
21 years or older
Desire and ability to work with seniors
Strong people skills
Own transportation to/from job sites
Physically active, able to be on your feet 6-8 hours a day
A desire to work as part of a team
Ability to take direction
Good organizational skills with attention to detail
Neat personal appearance
Starting Salary: $14 per hour
