Reassurance that we are prepared for anything. Were we prepared for 9/11? Shouldn’t we be prepared every day of the year???
So I am trying to find some humor in the situation, some of which I experienced directly last night and am now watching on tv from inside my apartment. Basically it breaks down into two groups: WHAT THE HECK? And WAS THIS HAPPENING ALL ALONG? Ok here goes; please don’t take offense or think I am taking this lightly. I am only using a tool that often works in calming me down.
WHAT THE HECK?
they cancelled all public city schools, many professionals don’t work today and tomorrow, and they have boarded up buildings that are targeted to have protests in front of them. The mayor tried to “rett up” Pittsburgh before all the “visitors” got here. But I think it’s like cleaning my apartment before a dinner circle – it should happen regularly for other reasons than special events. So is it assumed that we go to the poor suburbs and take all the plywood off of those abandoned buildings in hopes that the protesters burn those down? Cause that might help us out a bit. when you need a bus any day, you can’t find one. As I walked toward the CVS last night, I passed people hiking it with frame packs (there was a lot of camping going on), sometimes speaking other languages or at least with accents, and was stopped at the intersection by a bevy of police cars and FIVE empty BUSES. The buses, bright red, brand new looking, no political or other message written on them, I figured were obviously there to pick up people like me who are tired and want to go home. Lucky for me, as I crossed, they all parked right where I needed to go and then I noticed at least 50 state police gathered in a parking lot. I didn’t know what to do, because no one knows what to do about anything right now. ...Pittsburgh Movers
