Kevin Millwood has allowed three hits in four scoreless innings, and the right-hander is only an out away from reaching 180 innings and seeing his 2010 contract for $12 million kick in. There is no activity in the bullpen, though backup catcher Kevin Richardson just jogged down there. General manager Jon Daniels is also on the trip, but so far he hasn't motioned to the dugout to yank Millwood while there's still time to save some money.

This is fulfilling on a deal they entered into with Millwood, right or wrong when they signed him.
If this team is going to improve next year, Millwood can help them do it. Will it be as a "#1" pitcher? Hopefully some others will step into that role.
Also, in a contract year, I hate to say it but maybe they get a little more from Milly.
